#CaptureEastATX Instameet

Hey Peeps,

I did a thing the other day and I’m pretty damn proud to share it with you all! After walking the East 6th St area during one evening with my better half. We were both blown away with all the construction and the changes East Austin is going through. Making us decide it would be neat to host a Instameet on the East Side. In efforts to capture images of the changing landscape in a fun way with other local peeps.

Within minutes the #CaptureEastAtx Instameet was locked in. We took some promo photos and scouted the area to ensure we had mapped out good photo taking spots. We promoted the event for the span of two weeks and had a truly amazing turnout.

As soon as we drove passed the starting location, we noticed there was already a group of about ten peeps. The amount of faces kept growing, resulting in astonishing fifty plus attendees! Making it one of our most successful Instameets.

Peeps were connecting, taking photos of each other, and having fun. It's always such a sight seeing strangers meet and bond over taking photos and exploring. It’s those moments that bring perspective and clarity to my involvement in Instagram.

Community has always been at the core of my involvement within the Instagram world. As corny as it sounds it warms my heart to see people connect and get excited over taking photos. Reminds me of the first time I attended a Instameet and was exposed to the Instagram community in Texas.

We also just launched our #FeatureAustin campaign. We are putting the spot light on our community members by allowing them to share with Austin who they are and what they are up to.
